MAELSTROM
The all-male a capella singing sensation
ABOUT MAELSTROM
A Choir for Men
Malestom is a non-auditioned all-male singing ensemble breaking the mould of male voice choirs. Under the direction of award-winning MD Jeff Borradaile, Maelstrom sings an eclectic and crowd-pleasing range of acapella music from around the world.
The choir meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of every month at The Wesley Hall in Blackburn to rehearse for concerts and outings. Having sung across Lancashire, Rotterdam, and Cornwall, the choir is always looking for new adventures.
New singers are most welcome to join rehearsal sessions at The Wesley Hall. Members are a friendly and welcoming crowd, and they usually retire to the pub after singing to recover.

WHY WE SING
What the men of MAELSTROM say:
"Singing is special to me. Before rehearsals, I sometimes think I'm too tired or want to relax, yet singing usually proves me wrong every time."
"Singing with groups of like-minded people is a well-documented antidote for depression and other issues of the mind…..that must be why we’re all such perfectly sane and balanced individuals"
"Singing is a proven method for increasing well-being and a fabulous way to expand your circle of friends. Don't hesitate—take a leap of faith."
"Being in the choir can be a particularly uplifting experience when we build up a song piece by piece, and it finally comes together."
"The companionship with the other men will last a lifetime. I have travelled to countries I had never been to and love singing to an audience."
